The Local Organizing Committee would like to thank all athletes, accompanying family, donor families and volunteers who have traveled from all over Canada and the USA to make these Games a success and to let Canada know that organ donation works.

Everyone on the Local Organizing Committee here in Windsor learned a great deal about transplantation and organ donor awareness these past two years while preparing for the Games.

Le Comité organisateur aimeraient remercier tous les athlètes et leurs familles, toutes les familles des donateurs et les bénévoles qui ont voyagé à Windsor de partout au Canada et aux États-Unis afin de faire des Jeux de 2008 un véritable succès et conscientiser le Canada à ce que le don d’organe peut amener.

Tous les membres du Comité organisateur des Jeux des greffés de Windsor ont appris énormément au sujet des greffes d’organes pendant les deux années de préparations en vu des Jeux.

2008 CTA Games Chair, Niva Segatto will be honoured as 2008 Italian of the Year in Windsor, Ontario Region.

Windsor businesswoman Niva Segatto has been selected the 2008 Italian of Year by the area's Italian community and the Giovanni Caboto Club.

Transplant Games

The Canadian Transplant Games provided an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation in this county. Over 400 transplant recipients from across the country ranging in age from 5 to 76, gathered in Windsor to compete, volunteer and give support to one another. Transplantation has enormous potential to positively change people's lives, a potential limited only by the number of donors. These games provided a perfect venue for transplant athletes and their familes to celebrate an incredibly precious gift - The Gift of lLfe.

Organ & Tissue Donation

Organ and tissue donation for transplantation is a critical component of our healthcare system. Not only does organ and tissue donation improve the lives of thousands of people each year, it saves lives. It also provides families the opportunity to honour a loved one's wish to donate.
